The Russian Ministry of Education has licensed Dagestani feature film «Passengers» for the school-age audience. This is the first cinematic production in recent years to be entirely shot within the borders of the Republic of Dagestan. The project received financial support from the Head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov. The «Yastreb-Kaspiy» combined rapid response team was also involved in its production.

The «Passengers» is a gripping thriller on the pressing social issue of terrorism and the ethical dilemmas it presents. The narrative revolves around a hijacking incident involving an armed group taking over a passenger bus. The film delves into the psychological underpinnings that drive individuals to engage in terrorist activities and underscores the significance of making well-informed decisions.

According to producer Maria Turchina, the film creators aim to convey the message that no one can be considered a villain. A crucial objective was to explore and engage with the audience on the reasons behind a person's decision to take up arms. Being produced as part of a state initiative aimed at countering the ideology of extremism, the film becomes a significant milestone in Dagestani cinema.
