Chokh Terraces are an outstanding monument of terraced agriculture located near the village of Chokh in Gunibski municipal district of Dagestan.  They are over 5,000 years old, making them one of the oldest such structures in the world.

These cascading terraces are constructed as stepped platforms integrated into the mountainside, designed for agricultural purposes. They allowed the local residents to make the most of the inaccessible mountain terrain, transforming it into fertile land.

Although their agricultural function has diminished, the Chokh Terraces still stand as a testament to human ingenuity.
