Dr. Mustafa al-Bug from Syria to teach Dagestani graduates

On August 8, the chairman of Dagestan Committee on Freedom of Conscience and Cooperation with Religious Organizations Magomed Abdurakhmanov, together with representatives of Dagestan muftiat and alims met at the airport of Makhachkala one of the most famous Muslim scholars of our time - Mustafa Dib al-Bug, the press service of the committee informs.  

Dr. of Sharia Sciences Mustafa Dib al-Bug came to Dagestan on the invitation of Dagestan muftiat to teach a course on Islamic law in the graduate school at Dagestan Islamic University. It should be noted that this visit is a part of the program on the invitation the world-renowned Muslim scholars into Dagestani Islamic universities for teaching religious subjects in order to gain knowledge equivalent obtained in the foreign educational centers. This practice is carried out in order to reduce the outflow of Dagestani youth to foreign Islamic educational institutions.

As informed, the Syrian scholar will stay in the republic for about six months. Dr. Mustafa Dib al-Bug together with Dagestan Committee on Freedom of Conscience and Cooperation with Religious Organizations and Dagestan muftiat intend to participate in a number of educational events, including the II Muslim Forum and to meet with the students of Dagestan higher educational institutions.

Mustafa Dib al-Buga al-Dimashqi ash-Shafi'i was born in Damascus in the Maidan district in 1938. He is a recognized as the expert in the field of Islamic law. In 1974, Dr. Mustafa received a master's degree and doctorate at the Faculty of Islamic law at the University of Al-Azhar University.

Dr. Mustafa Dib al-Buga worked as an imam in the major Syrian mosques, taught in the faculties of the University of Damascus, Islamic law, Qatar University, "Yarmuk" University (Jordan). Currently, the Muslim scholar  teaches at the University of Jordan, "Al-`ulyum al Islamiya al-`alyamiyya".
