MAKHACHKALA, June 8 – RIA Dagestan. Dagestan branch of Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance across Dagestan) monitored the export of 5,600 tons of corn and 2,600 tons of feed barley to Iran and Afghanistan via Makhachkala Sea Commercial Port between June 1 and 4, 2026.
Since the beginning of the year, the port has handled over 290,000 tons of grain and processed grain products from across Russia under the agency's control, including 95,400 tons from North Ossetia, 56,000 tons from Kabardino-Balkaria, and 16,500 tons from Stavropol Krai. Documentary and physical inspections revealed no violations and grain disinfestation was carried out in accordance with the importing countries' phytosanitary standards.
