MAKHACHKALA, February 26 – RIA "Dagestan". A business delegation from Dagestan visited Afghanistan in February 2026, with Dagestan Export Support Center coordinating the mission. During the trip, the representatives of regional enterprises met with Afghan entrepreneurs, importers and suppliers to explore trade opportunities. Afghan partners expressed strong interest in importing several Dagestani products, including vegetable oil, legumes such as chickpeas and lentils, grains, locally grown rice, as well as sugar and confectionery items.
A central event of the visit took place at Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, where three Dagestani companies signed cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding with Afghan counterparts. The parties also discussed mechanisms for mutual financial settlements. Apart from import opportunities for Dagestan, Afghan partners indicated their readiness to supply nuts and dried fruits to the republic, supplementing the established trade in fresh fruits that Afghanistan has historically exported to Russia.
