A working meeting to update the investment project for establishing an olive orchard and an oil extraction plant in the Republic of Dagestan was held in Baku. The meeting was convened on the instruction of the Deputy Chairman of the Government of Dagestan.
Dagestani delegation was led by Aliyar Abdullaev, Head of the Republic's Representative Office in Baku and Ruslan Abaskuliev, Public Assistant to the Head of the Republic and Director of Dagestan Export Support Center. The officials held talks with the project initiator, the Azerbaijani company ISFA, a major agricultural operator specializing in the full-cycle development of orchards.
The meeting was also attended by Maria Alimova, Third Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan and Samir Heyirbekov, Director and investor of ISFA. The parties agreed on the necessity to revise the project's business plan, focusing on the following key economic indicators:
• Projected tax contributions to budgets at all levels;
• The number of new jobs to be created;
• The total investment volume.
To finalize the roadmap, a joint coordination meeting involving all stakeholders is scheduled for January 2026 in Derbent municipal district of Dagestan. This meeting will aim to develop a detailed implementation plan and launch the project's initial phases.
