Dagestan agricultural producers have successfully finished the 2025–2026 winter forage campaign, significantly exceeding planned targets by stockpiling over 1.616 million metric tons of coarse and succulent feed. This figure surpasses the initial goal of 1.6 million tons and is 100,000 tons more than the previous year’s total.

The stockpile consists primarily of hay (~1.48 million tons), along with straw, haylage, and silage. To achieve this, a large fleet of agricultural machinery, including hundreds of mowers, balers, and forage harvesters, was deployed across the republic.

Kizlyarsky, Babayurtovsky, Khasavyurtovsky and Tarumovsky districts were the top contributors, each providing over 100,000 tons. With a total of 1.616 million tons—surpassing the 1.5 million tons recorded in 2024—this achievement underscores stronger food security and a more resilient livestock sector in Dagestan.
