AKHTYNSKY DISTRICT, February 26 – RIA "Dagestan". Construction of Akhtsakh Solar Power Plant, a strategically significant energy facility, is underway in Dagestan's Akhtynsky District.
According to Artur Alibekov, Director General of "Energy" LLC, the plant is designed as a modern generating facility with a planned capacity of 2 MW and an integrated energy storage system. Its output will be comparable to that of the operational Akhtynskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant (1.8 MW) and the two facilities are expected to form a complementary energy pair—combining renewable solar generation with traditional hydropower to enhance regional grid reliability.
The first phase of construction, with a capacity of 1 MW, is currently in progress. Site preparation work is nearing completion, after which installation of solar modules, inverter equipment and lithium-ion energy storage units will commence. This integrated configuration will enable flexible and controllable power delivery to the local grid.
