The first garden with blueberries in Dagestan was laid in Magaramkentski municipal district of Dagestan on an area of 1 hectare. In the fall, the planting area will be increased up to 5 hectares. This is the first time such a berry orchard is being planted in the region. The investor of the project is Leonid Obukhov from Nizhny Novgorod region. It is expected to yield up to 5 kilograms of blueberries from each bush. In 2023, Dagestan produced more than 7.5 thousand tons of berry crops. This is almost 40% of the total volume of berries grown in the North Caucasian Federal District.
