MOSCOW, May 18 – RIA "Dagestan". At the CIPR 2026 forum in Nizhny Novgorod, MTS presented an aeromobile complex designed for the rapid deployment of mobile networks, featuring Russian-made LTE/5G telecom equipment from IRTEYA mounted on an unmanned aerial vehicle.
The company plans to deploy several dozen such systems across various Russian regions by early 2028. The system consists of a tethered hexacopter drone, an IRTEYA base station and a GAZ Sobol NN 4x4 van, which two specialists can make operational in about 30 minutes.
From an altitude of 100 to 200 meters, the tethered drone provides reliable radio coverage within a 10-to-15-kilometer radius for up to three days. During testing, data transmission speeds reached up to 1.2 Gbit/s in 5G standard via satellite or fiber-optic connection. The solution is intended for use in remote and sparsely populated areas, mass events, emergency response, search-and-rescue missions, and industrial private networks in hard-to-reach locations.
