MAKHACHKALA, March 25 – RIA Dagestan. Residents of tourist special economic zones (SEZs) in the Northern Caucasus have announced total investments of RUB 190 billion by 2030.
Currently, 111 residents operate under the management of the Kavkaz.RF corporation. In 2022, there were only 45. The growing number of investors reflects increasing business interest in the development of tourism infrastructure in the region.
In 2022, ski resorts managed by Kavkaz.RF welcomed 1.3 million visitors. By 2025, that figure had risen to 2.1 million tourists.
Six SEZs are currently at various stages of development across the North Caucasus: Arkhyz and Elbrus, which have established tourist flows; Mamison, which recently opened; and Veduchi and the Caspian Coastal Cluster in Dagestan, both currently under construction.
Over the past five years, RUB 70.5 billion in state funds have been allocated for infrastructure development. Additional RUB 26 billion are planned for the coming years.
