MAKHACHKALA, March 4 – RIA "Dagestan". The Dagestan State Opera and Ballet Theater has been allocated a grant from the Government of the Russian Federation for a creative project in theatrical art scheduled for 2026.
From over 80 applications submitted nationwide, expert reviewers selected 13 projects for funding, including the proposal from Dagestani theater.
With federal support, the theater plans to stage Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera "Eugene Onegin" based on Alexander Pushkin's novel of the same name. According to the theater, the production will be presented to audience in the republic. The work features arias and a narrative centered on themes of relationships and personal reflection.
