MAKHACHKALA, May 21 – RIA Dagestan. The Azerbaijani State Musical and Drama Theater from Dagestan participated in the 38th International Amateur Theater Festival, held May 9–17 in Turkish city of Denizli.
The ensemble presented tragedy "The Incomprehensible" by Samir Sadagat ogly, directed by Sarvar Aliyev, Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan and Honored Worker of Culture of the Azerbaijan Republic. The performance generated significant interest among audiences, received high praise from the professional community, and earned an invitation to the Istanbul Festival, scheduled to take place in Kosovo in February 2027.
Particular attention was given to actress Aygun Nadzhafova, whose vocal abilities impressed the audience and led to an invitation for a solo concert in Turkey. Theater representatives noted that the festival provided a platform for exchanging experience, showcasing theatrical traditions, and strengthening international cultural ties.
Immediately following their international success, the troupe departed for an extensive tour in Orenburg.
