MOSCOW, April 24 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestan-produced film “Echo of Wedding Adats” has won the Grand Prize at the International Festival of Educational Films and Innovative Content, KinoIntellect, held in Moscow.
Created collaboratively by students of B.Muradova Dagestan College of Culture and Arts and the School of Creative Industries, the film triumphed in the Best Educational Video Lecture category. The jury, composed of Russian and international filmmakers, commended the production for translating complex cultural traditions into an engaging, modern educational format.
Through the narrative of two friends meeting horsemen and expressing folk customs via dance, Echo of Wedding Adats effectively captures Dagestan's cultural heritage while appealing to contemporary audiences. The production was led by director Magomed Batyrmurzaev and producer Timurlan Temirov.
The film, previously honored at regional festivals focused on cultural heritage, aligns with KinoIntellect's mission—supported by Russia's Ministry of Science and Higher Education—to highlight visual content that educates on vital themes such as cultural preservation and social values. The festival, recognized by Russia's Ministry of Culture, annually spotlights pioneering educational practices through cinematic excellence.
The award underscores the growing contribution of Dagestani youth to innovative cultural education and demonstrates how traditional knowledge can be preserved and shared through modern media formats.
