MAKHACHKALA, March 1 – RIA "Dagestan". At the III All-Russian Award "Tourist Cities" Derbent received the Grand Prix, while Makhachkala took the first place in the "Best City for Spiritual and Educational Tourism" category during its debut participation in the competition. The results have been announced by Emiliya Radzhabova, deputy Mayor of Makhachkala.
According to city officials, the award is intended to highlight the cultural and historical heritage of Makhachkala alongside its well-known coastal attractions. The city's presentation at the award ceremony was delivered by Magomed Magomedaliev, deputy Head of the Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy Department.
Radzhabova characterized the recognition as reflecting the city's values, traditions and achievements.
