DAGESTANSKIE OGNI, March 22 – RIA Dagestan. Zarema Butaeva, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Dagestan, paid a working visit to the Republican Children's Circus School named after K.Kurbanov in the town of Dagestanskie Ogni. The top official examined the institution's ongoing operations and addressed plans for its modernization.
The Republican Circus Arts School is a specialized educational facility in the Northern Caucasus focused on training circus performers. The institution was established in 1969 and received the honorary title "People's Circus of Dagestan" in 1971.
According to available information, the school currently educates 235 students: approximately 185 children are enrolled in circus disciplines, while around 50 study in the choreography department. Students participate in federal and international events, including a recent performance at the II International Aerial Gymnastics Festival "Aura" in Moscow.
Minister Butaeva and school leadership discussed the upcoming renovation of the building, scheduled for this year under the "Family" national project. The renovation project encompasses three main areas: replacement of the roofing system, upgrades to flooring in specialized training halls and both interior and exterior finishing work.
Butaeva underscored the importance of preserving Dagestan's circus art traditions and maintaining proper training conditions for students. The planned measures aim to support the school's educational and event-hosting capabilities.
