MAKHACHKALA, June 18 – RIA "Dagestan". Fyodor Shchukin, Acting Head of the Republic of Dagestan, chaired a session of the Anti-Terrorism Commission to examine the progress of implementation of the comprehensive Plan to counter the ideology of terrorism, endorsed by the President of the Russian Federation.
Meeting participants pointed out that government entities pursued this work in close coordination with public, youth and religious organizations. With external pressures mounting and terrorist threats on the rise, special attention was devoted to the critical need for full-scale commitment and the integration of efforts across all agencies.
The regional governor stressed that the primary objective was to adopt a proactive approach, guarantee the safety of citizens and prevent young people and minors from being drawn into illegal activities. In this context, he directed the heads of relevant agencies to maintain personal oversight of effectiveness of the structural units tasked with executing the plan's measures. Fyodor Shchukin also confirmed that the practice of regularly discussing this issue during the republican government meetings would be sustained.
