In 2025, the Republic of Dagestan will receive approximately RUB 1.5 billion to modernize its educational institutions. These funds will be allocated to purchase state-of-the-art IT equipment for 1260 schools within the republic.
The project aims to install modern networks, create communication centers and provide Wi-Fi access in educational institutions. Additionally, schools will be equipped with surveillance cameras.
As to Yuri Gamzatov, the Digital Development Minister of Dagestan, the list of schools has now been coordinated with the regional Ministry of Education. In total, 1834 schools will be covered by the project.
This initiative is part of a larger project that commenced in 2022, with the first phase including design work for 1,952 schools, of which 118 have already received the necessary infrastructure improvements. Furthermore, additional funding in the amount of RUB 37.7 million will be distributed over the course of 2026 and 2027 as part of this phase.
