Federal and Regional Officials Coordinate Large-Scale Utility Infrastructure Development
MOSCOW, April 1 – RIA Dagestan. Sergei Melikov, Head of the Republic of Dagestan and Alexander Lomakin, First Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing Utilities of the Russian Federation, held a working meeting in Moscow to coordinate the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects in the republic. The top officials discussed priority initiatives aimed at ensuring reliable water supply and modern wastewater management systems for residents of Dagestan.

According to Melikov, Dagestan gets prepared to implement an unprecedented program in terms of scale and significance, encompassing both the construction of new facilities and the comprehensive reconstruction of existing utility networks. The parties also addressed cooperation between the federal Ministry and the republic in the prevention and mitigation of emergency situations. Potential support measures from the federal government will be further developed in detail to strengthen regional resilience.

Melikov and Lomakin expressed gratitude to contracting organizations involved in addressing the consequences of recent heavy rainfall in the region. Notably, "Sovremennye Sistemy Renovatcii" LLC and "Mostootryad" LLC — the companies implementing federally significant projects in Dagestan—have deployed specialized equipment to assist residents in flood-affected areas. Despite ongoing emergency response efforts, construction of planned engineering infrastructure continues on schedule.
