MAKHACHKALA, October 1 – RIA "Dagestan". Acting Head of Dagestan Fyodor Shchukin has met with Evgeny Eremin, a senior official from the Russian Presidential Administration’s Domestic Policy Directorate, to discuss strategies for strengthening national cohesion and ethno-religious harmony.
The parties referenced historical precedents, notably the Constitution of Medina, recognized as one of the earliest documents enshrining the priority of civil peace and harmony over ethnic and religious differences. Additional topics addressed included the preservation of indigenous languages and the cultural heritage of Dagestan's diverse peoples.
Summing up the meeting, Fyodor Shchukin and Evgeny Eremin reaffirmed their commitment to further cooperation and the mutual support of initiatives aimed at consolidating interethnic and interfaith harmony in the region.
