MAKHACHKALA, June 24 – RIA "Dagestan". The Acting Head of the Republic of Dagestan, Fyodor Shchukin, has expressed firm intention to further develop enduring good-neighborly relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. During a meeting with Russia’s envoy to Tehran, Andrey Tanaev, Shchukin discussed upcoming initiatives aimed at expanding cooperation and assisting Iranian partners.
Dagestan provided humanitarian aid to Iran and is currently looking at ways to welcome children from conflict-affected areas for organized vacations within the region. The governor also highlighted the challenges faced by local cargo carriers and promised them broad support.
The roadmap for future cooperation includes holding freestyle wrestling tournament and opening a photo exhibition showcasing Dagestan in the city of Rasht. Shchukin emphasized that the republic remains committed to advancing work in all these areas.
