Head of Russia's EMERCOM Arrives in Dagestan to Coordinate Flood Response Efforts

MAKHACHKALA, April 9 – RIA Dagestan. Alexander Kurenkov, head of Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry and chairman of the government commission handling Dagestan's flood aftermath, has arrived in Makhachkala. The top official was joined by Natural Resources Minister Alexander Kozlov and Construction Minister Irek Faizullin.

Immediately after landing, Kurenkov convened a meeting at the airport, then set off for an aerial survey of the hardest-hit areas to assess the situation firsthand and monitor ongoing response operations. His visit also includes stops at temporary shelters to check living conditions for evacuees and ensure they have adequate supplies.
