MAKHACHKALA, August 4 – RIA "Dagestan". Magomed Valikhov, Deputy Public Health Minister of Dagestan and participant in the "Time of Heroes" program, identified the creation of a unified digital diagnostic system based on the Republican Diagnostic Center as a priority for healthcare development.

The initiative aims to provide residents of remote districts with access to high-tech diagnostics comparable to those available in Makhachkala by connecting rural and urban facilities through a Unified Information System.

Valikhov explained that AI processes images taken locally and provides analyzed data to specialists in the capital, reducing diagnosis time from weeks to hours; he cited a case where the Russian AI system "Celsus" detected an aggressive cancer missed by conventional imaging, enabling successful treatment.

Emphasizing practical results over formal digitalization, he noted that AI had already processed tens of thousands of requests to detect early-stage oncology and micro-strokes. Future plans include using AI to assist doctors in selecting personalized treatment protocols and reducing administrative burdens to minimize fatigue-related errors and allow more time for patient care.
