MAKHACHKALA, May 15 – RIA "Dagestan". Experts from the hh.ru online recruitment platform analyzed the labor market in the North Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) within the tourism, hospitality and food service sectors, noting heightened employer activity in Dagestan.
According to the study, over 500 vacancies in "Tourism, Hotels, and Restaurants" were published in the NCFD in April 2026. Stavropol Krai led with approximately 300 vacancies (56% of the district's total), followed by Dagestan with around 100 vacancies (24%). Researchers note that year-on-year dynamics show more moderate market activity compared to April 2025.
Dagestan also stands out for its salary offers: the median salary in the sector across the NCFD in April amounted to RUB 52,100 (+16% year-on-year), with the highest median in the district recorded in Dagestan at RUB 73,000. This is followed by Karachay-Cherkessia and the Chechen Republic (RUB 60,000 each), North Ossetia–Alania and Ingushetia (RUB 55,000 each), Stavropol Krai (RUB 47,600) and Kabardino-Balkaria (RUB 40,000).
Blue-collar occupations drive labor demand in the NCFD. There are roughly 300 vacancies for cooks, bakers and confectioners; about 100 for waiters, bartenders and baristas; and nearly 100 for cleaning staff. This trend indicates rising investment in the region's service sector and heightened competition for skilled hospitality workers.
