MAKHACHKALA, May 13 – RIA "Dagestan". The neural network "Alisa AI" analyzed Yandex data on house sales across Russian regions for March 2026. Nationwide, the average house size increased by 8.3% to 102.5 square meters, while the price per square meter rose by 12.8% to RUB 66,100.
Dagestan entered the top four regions for spacious homes: the median house area reached 172.7 square meters (+9.6% year-on-year, +6% quarter-on-quarter), with a price per square meter of RUB 87,100 (+2.4%). Moscow Oblast leads the ranking with 231.3 square meters, followed by Chechnya (209.4 sq. m) and Ingushetia (179.3 sq. m). Also in the top 10 are Kabardino-Balkaria (8th place, 133.6 sq. m) and Karachay-Cherkessia (10th place, 117.5 sq. m).
The most significant year-on-year growth in house size was recorded in Irkutsk Oblast (+29.9%), Chuvashia (+28.8%), Kursk Oblast (+28%), Moscow Oblast (+25.1%), and Lipetsk Oblast (+23.3%). Analysts attribute the trend toward larger homes to shifting consumer preferences, increased demand for suburban living and regional variations in land availability and construction costs.
