MAKHACHKALA, May 21 – RIA Dagestan. Dagestan State Medical University confirmed its status as a leading medical institution in the North Caucasian Federal District at the International Medical Forum "University Science. Innovations" held in Moscow.
The university's delegation, led by Rector Visampasha Khanaliev, received the honorary title "Leader of 'University Science. Innovations'-2026" presented by Deputy Public Health Minister Tatyana Semenova.
DSMU has also been awarded a diploma for its contribution to university science development and a letter of appreciation for participation in the "University Science Relay-2026" initiative.
As part of the scientific program, five young DSMU scientists presented research projects spanning dentistry, infectious diseases, tuberculosis diagnostics, surgical complications, and advanced wound diagnostics. The university's innovations were showcased alongside leading national centers such as Sechenov University and the Almazov National Medical Research Centre, attracting significant interest from the expert community.
The "University Science. Innovations" competition is held annually under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Health and ranks among the country's key scientific events. Rector Visampasha Khanaliev attributed the university's success to a combination of long-standing traditions, modern educational technologies, and innovative approaches to professional training. These achievements underscore DSMU's growing role in advancing medical research and education across the North Caucasian region.
