MAKHACHKALA, May 22 – RIA Dagestan. As part of the cross Years of Education of Russia and China (2026–2027), Dagestan State University held an online meeting with representatives of Hubei Minzu University to accelerate the signing of an inter-university agreement and develop long-term partnership. Key discussion topics included reciprocal visits by university leadership, the establishment of a TORFL center at Hubei Minzu University with DSU's assistance, the creation of a Chinese Language Center at DSU, student and faculty exchanges and the launch of joint bachelor's and master's educational programs.
The Chinese delegation was represented by Secretary of the Party Committee Dai Qingtan, Vice President Li Jun, faculty deans and International Cooperation Office Head Luo Yunjian, while DSU was represented by Rector Murtazali Rabadanov and senior administration officers.
As to DSU Rector Murtazali Rabadanov, Hubei Minzu University is a strong, multidisciplinary partner and expressed confidence that joint programs and academic exchanges would open new horizons for students and faculty. A memorable moment of the meeting was an address by Asiyat Khaibulaeva, Head of DSU's Chinese Language Center, who spoke to her Chinese colleagues in their native language, eliciting a warm response from participants on both sides.
The parties noted DSU's extensive experience collaborating with leading Chinese universities, including Beijing University of Technology and Harbin Institute of Technology, with two DSU staff members currently completing scientific internships in Harbin. The meeting concluded with an agreement to sign the partnership document promptly and develop a roadmap for joint actions, which the parties believe will boost Russian-Chinese educational and scientific cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
