MAKHACHKALA, April 29 – RIA "Dagestan." Dagestan State University convened an international scientific and practical conference entitled "Education of the Future and Regional Economics: Strategies for Sustainable Growth" commemorating the institution's 95th anniversary.
The conference brought together academics, faculty members and specialists from Russia and neighboring countries to discuss the evolving relationship between higher education, economic development and regional sustainability.
Aziza Gasangadzhiyeva, Vice Rector of Dagestan State University, underscored the imperative role of economists in shaping a national education framework by identifying labor market demands for proficient, future-ready professionals.
Marina Borovskaya, President of Southern Federal University, emphasized the critical need to integrate scientific research, educational programs, and economic development, advocating for early student involvement in research initiatives as a pathway to innovation.
Mirlan Dyldaev, Rector of Bishkek State University, noted that the primary objective of future universities was to cultivate critical thinking and analytical skills rather than merely dispensing knowledge, preparing graduates for adaptive leadership in dynamic environments.
Laura Akhmedova, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Dagestan State University, asserted that future graduates must embody the role of solution architects, equipped to operate competently within interdisciplinary contexts and address complex socio-economic challenges.
Participants adopted a set of recommendations aimed at strengthening cooperation between universities, government agencies and the private sector to advance sustainable growth across the Northern Caucasus and broader Eurasian region.
