MAKHACHKALA, June 19 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestan State University plans to admit students to 36 bachelor's degree programs, 6 specialist programs and 27 master's degree programs in the 2026–2027 academic year. The university has increased the number of state-funded places to 1,257 (compared to 1,158 in the previous academic year). Of these, 973 are for bachelor's and specialist programs, 284 for master's programs and 22 for specialist programs.
For fee-paying applicants, 2,400 places are allocated (1,440 for bachelor's/specialist programs, 960 for master's programs). The number of fee-paying places this year is limited in accordance with the current regulatory framework of the Russian Government and orders of the relevant ministry.
In response to the Russian President's directive issued after the Council for Science and Education meeting and with the regional shortage of teaching staff in mind, DSU has revised its programs in mathematics, natural sciences, technology and engineering. Students may now take a supplementary pedagogical module at no cost and qualify as a "Teacher". During the current admissions cycle, applicants are permitted to apply to up to five universities simultaneously and select up to five disciplines or specialties at each institution.
The Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education has raised the threshold USE scores for 2026 in a range of subjects—physics, computer science, chemistry, biology, history, and foreign languages—by several points. Holders of secondary vocational education may be admitted to corresponding bachelor's and specialist programs through university-set entrance examinations. At DSU, the admission campaign launches on June 20, with documents due by July 15 for those taking additional entrance tests and by July 25 for other applicants.
Special admission rules have been introduced for the 2026/27 academic year for graduates from newly incorporated regions and several border territories. Specifically, candidates from the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions included on the Ministry of Education's list may sit their general-subject entrance tests in interview format. I
n the upcoming year, the university will run 8 secondary vocational education programs, two of which are new IT tracks, with a total of 775 places (55 federally funded, 100 republic-funded, and 620 fee-paying).
Applicants can submit documents to DSU in person at the admissions office, through the "University Admission Online" service on the Gosuslugi portal or via postal mail.
