MAKHACHKALA, September 29 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestan regional branch of the Union of Journalists of Russia has announced the commencement of the Second Republic-Wide Journalism Competition in memory of Zagir Arukhov, Minister for National Policy, Religious Affairs and External Relations of the Republic of Dagestan (2003–2005).
Participation is open to practicing television journalists and production crews of regional TV channels in Dagestan. Submissions must address the social sphere of the republic. Entries that identify specific issues and propose corresponding solutions are strongly encouraged.
The competition procedure comprises two stages: the acceptance of applications from September 28 to October 30 and the review of entries by the competition commission from October 31 to November 10, followed by the publication of results on the official website of the regional branch.
Winners and runners-up will be awarded diplomas and monetary prizes: 40,000 rubles for first place, 30,000 rubles for second place, and 20,000 rubles for third place. The awards ceremony will be conducted on November 13 at the regional branch of the Union of Journalists.
