MOSCOW, February 25 – RIA "Dagestan". A documentary titled "Strong in Spirit" focusing on Dagestani servicemen – the participants of special military operation in Ukraine and their mothers, was screened at Moscow's Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill.
The film was directed by Mekhriban Muslimova, founder of the Strength of Mothers support group, who lost two relatives—Azim Muslimov and Hero of Russia recipient Muslim Muslimov—in the conflict. Filming spanned six months across 12 districts of Dagestan and incorporated more than 100 hours of material, including family archives and footage from combat zones.
Dagestani Head Sergei Melikov, who attended the screening, described the documentary as a tribute to maternal resilience and the sacrifices of Dagestani families. As to the top official, the film serves as a historical record amid what he characterized as efforts to distort the narrative surrounding the war.
