"The Keepers of Traditions" documentary directed by Rodion Ismailov will be presented at Astrakhan Media Forum on August 21-22. The film and explores the diverse customs of Dagestani peoples.
The forum, organized by the Foundation for Support of Regional Cinematography of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, attracts a wide range of participants including government officials, media representatives, academics, political analysts, students, graduates, bloggers and journalists fr om the Caspian region, Belarus and Uzbekistan.
The event will feature open screenings of documentaries supported by the UCR, showcasing films such as:
"Avdarys" by Islam Satyrov, documenting the revival of Nogai horse wrestling.
"Live, Song, live!" by Madina Kostoeva, highlighting the preservation of Ingush lullabies and language.
"Keepers of Traditions" by Rodion Ismailov, a kaleidoscopic exploration of Dagestan's unique cultural practices.
"Leila" by Vladimir Tarasov, part of the film almanac "Wh ere our home is, North Ossetia".
The film screenings will take place on August 21 at Astrakhan State University named after V. N. Tatishchev.
