MAKHACHKALA, September 25 – RIA Dagestan. The first fully robotic laboratory in the Northern Caucasus has been launched at Dagestan Diagnostic Center. As to Clinical Applications Specialist Elena Yamshchikova, the new analytical equipment—the MT-8000—consists of several modules and eliminates manual labor.
"Biomaterial is placed into the loading and unloading module, after which the system automatically retrieves the samples, distributes them into carriers, reads the barcodes and opens the caps. The test tubes are then routed to the biochemical and immunochemical analyzers. All of this occurs without human intervention, minimizing the risk of errors and significantly speeding up the workflow" - she explained.
The system is capable of processing a high volume of tests and supports a wide range of pre-analytical requirements. It performs photo documentation of each test tube, conducts individual measurements, and tracks the entire journey of the biomaterial—from collection to the issuance of results. Once testing is complete, the analyzers automatically sort the test tubes and archive the samples if necessary.
The regional Public Health Ministry emphasizes that the Republican Diagnostic Center maintains its leading position in the quality and depth of diagnostics in Dagestan. In 2026, over 16,000 AI-assisted tests were conducted, identifying 247,900 patients with early symptoms of diseases. Test results are automatically uploaded to the patient's electronic medical record.
"The use of AI in healthcare has improved the quality of diagnostics in Dagestan. Previously, I had to travel to the best clinics in the world to see this level of technology. Everywhere, the triple synergy of specialists, equipment, and artificial intelligence ensures the highest quality of care" Aliomar Akhmedov, the Acting Public Health Minister of Dagestan commented.
