MAKHACHKALA, June 19 – RIA "Dagestan". A delegation from Pakistan, headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, visited Dagestan State University as part of their visit to Dagestan. The topic of the meeting with Rector Murtazali Rabadanov was the prospects for developing educational, scientific, and cultural cooperation between universities of Dagestan and Pakistan.
Rabadanov briefed the visitors on the university's core activities, highlighting its academic and research capabilities as well as its international partnerships. The rector highlighted that preserving the republic's linguistic diversity was a fundamental part of the institution's educational and scholarly objectives. In response, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi emphasized the crucial role universities play in fostering stronger bilateral relations between nations.
According to the ambassador, he deliberately includes three types of institutions in his travel itineraries — universities, government structures, and chambers of commerce — because they are the platforms that foster strong links between people, cultures, business communities and educational bodies. Tirmizi expressed willingness to expand educational and scientific cooperation, deliver shared projects, organize student and staff exchanges and roll out competitive programs.
The diplomat pointed out how timely and useful the visit to Dagestan and the exchange with DSU staff had been. He underscored that educational partnership could form the basis for advancing bilateral ties. Ambassador Tirmizi offered assistance in establishing direct university-to-university contacts between Pakistan and Dagestan. The talks finished with both parties expressing a shared desire to broaden cooperation, underlining that closer links between educational and scientific bodies would strengthen humanitarian bonds, promote scientific and educational progress and create fresh opportunities for students, teachers, and researchers on both sides.
