The All-Russian TopBLOG project, affiliated with the presidential platform "Russia - the Land of Opportunities" calls for applications from journalists, bloggers and media professionals in Dagestan for the SHUM Media and Journalism Award's "Voice of the Region" category.
This nomination specifically recognizes individuals who depict their local communities with passion and expertise. Applications are accepted until August 17th through the website premiyashum.ru.
Eligible participants include professionals working in regional media and individuals managing independent media projects, aged 18 to 35. The "Voice of the Region" category welcomes diverse formats, encompassing television programs, videos, articles, blogs, video blogs, news channels, podcasts, websites, print publications, documentaries, animations and more.
Crucially, all submitted materials must be published between June 1st, 2024, and June 1st, 2025. Collaborative projects are also eligible; a designated team representative submits the application, while other participants register on the award website, specifying the project name and representative's details. Up to three team members may advance to the in-person competition stage.
The SHUM Award aims to unite and support promising young talent engaged in producing socially relevant content, addressing critical issues, and cultivating a positive perception of their regions. Potential topics include cultural events, domestic tourism, significant occurrences, interviews with esteemed locals, environmental concerns, economic developments, and social transformations. Last year, the SHUM Award garnered over 10,000 applications from media experts across Russia.
