MAKHACHKALA, July 3 – RIA "Dagestan". Islam Makhachev has officially been awarded the prestigious title of Honored Master of Sport of Russia in sambo. The corresponding decree has been recently published on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Sports. This recognition highlights his elite achievements in the discipline, most notably his gold medal victory in the up to 74 kg weight class at the 2016 Combat Sambo World Championship.
