MOSCOW, August 4 – RIA "Dagestan". Shirvani Muradov, winner of Olympic gold at Beijing 2008, will make his RAF debut at the league’s inaugural Moscow tournament on September 5, with his opponent to be named shortly.
The 41-year-old Dynamo sports school graduate has continued training in recent years at Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s school to stay in condition. Beyond his Olympic gold, Muradov won a European championship in 2007, but chronic knee injuries forced him to virtually retire after Beijing. A 2012 attempt to resume competing was unsuccessful because of ongoing health concerns.
