Dagestan annually produces about 40 thousand tons of mutton. As to the Prime Minister of Dagestan Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, 15 thousand tons of mutton is exported to other regions of the country.

"We have managed to make Dagestan mutton a certain brand, which is in big demand," - the chairman of the regional Government confesses.

At the same time, the Republican Export Support Centre notes that Dagestan mutton is in demand among foreign importers too. For example, in the UAE it is served in elite restaurants and hotels.
