Analysts at J’son Partners Consulting have identified digital security leaders based on a yearly survey of Russia’s largest ecosystems and telecommunications operators. Following the results of a comparison of the functionality and comprehensiveness of solutions for digitally protecting users, MTS has been ranked first in the ranking. Beeline, MegaFon, Yandex, and t2 have followed in the top five. The research also included security solutions provided by Sberbank, Tinkoff Bank and VK.

The study notes that Russian digital companies are actively enhancing the capabilities of their services in order to combat phone fraud and data leaks. For instance, MTS has recently launched the ‘Safe Call’ feature, which is an artificial intelligence-powered voice warning system that alerts users during a call about potentially fraudulent activity.

Another recent security update from MTS is the ‘Data Leak Notification’ feature, available on MTS, Sber, and t2, which allows subscribers to track their data if it is leaked onto the network and provides recommendations on how to reduce the risk of data loss. Since the beginning of this year, 2.3 billion spam calls have been blocked on MTS’s network alone, with 30 million calls in Dagestan specifically. In terms of time, this equates to approx. 6 million minutes or 10 years of failed interactions with potential fraudsters and spam callers, Karema Izieva, the director of the territorial branch of MTS across the Republic of Dagestan says, commenting the study.
