In Dagestan, a total of 580,000 metric tons of grain products were dispatched for export to the Islamic Republic of Iran through Makhachkala commercial seaport terminal. All shipments underwent inspection by officials from Dagestan branch of Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision) to ensure the absence of diseases and pests.

Simultaneously, the volume of grain exports via Makhachkala port in 2024 amounted to 26% less than in 2023, specifically 736,000 tons. A total of approximately 170 shipments were subject to inspection. The cargo arrived at the port via road transportation from neighboring regions such as Kabardino-Balkaria and Stavropol Krai.
