The development of the Caspian tourism cluster is one of the priority investment projects in the Republic of Dagestan. It can attract more than 200 thousand tourists to the region annually. This was reported to journalists by the press service of "Kavkaz.RF" JSC following the visit of the company's representatives to the region.

“The largest priority project is the Caspian tourism cluster. It includes the creation of recreational infrastructure on the sea coast. The seaside resort in Dagestan will help to attract more than 200,000 additional tourists a year,” the report runs. The Director General of the Kavkaz.RF Khasan Timizhev visited the Uytash industrial park under construction in Kaspiysk, a fiberglass plant in Makhachkala and held meetings with the Head of the republic Sergei Melikov, as well as relevant leaders and potential investors. As part of the working trip, sections of the coast were identified for their further processing into investment projects. All the projects discussed at the meetings were included in the priority list. They were developed at the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and presented to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin in November 2021 during a strategic session with the regions of the North Caucasian Federal District.

The list includes not only the Caspian tourism cluster, but also a fruit and vegetable cluster in southern Dagestan, as well as a glass industrial cluster. According to Timizhev, Dagestan is very promising region in terms of investments, but it is necessary to carry out preparatory work. “Investors face infrastructure and land challenges. First of all, we are talking about three areas where the state, represented by the Ministry of Economic Development and Kavkaz.RF, can actively collaborate. These are tourism, agro-industrial complex and industry”.

The representatives of the company also visited the site of the Uytash industrial park under construction in Kaspiysk. It is the place to shift the existing production from Makhachkala - the old fiberglass plant. “Apart from the economy, the environmental aspect is important here. I mean the transfer of the old enterprise from the city and the creation of a new fiberglass plant within the boundaries of the industrial park. This is the modern approach to the organization of the industrial sector - cost reduction due to the concentration and localization of production. I hope that projects financed by Kavkaz.RF will appear in the Uytash park in the near future,” - Timizhev said.

The Caspian coastal cluster is located on the territory of Derbent, Karabudakhkent, Kayakent and Magaramkent municipal districts of the republic. The length of the coastline of the Caspian Sea in Dagestan exceeds 500 kilometers.
