As reported by the port's press service, the Chinese holding Famsun Group intends to complete the construction of a grain terminal at the Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port with a capacity of 1.5 million tons per year and a one-time storage capacity of up to 100,000 tons by 2028. A full set of high-tech and environmentally friendly equipment has already been purchased and is awaiting shipment. Currently, the transshipment capacity of the Makhachkala port for grain is 500,000 tons per year.
