This has been announced by the Russian State Duma deputy Khizri Abakarov. According to the politician, the Dagestani company sent all the necessary technical specifications to the Chinese company WEI HUA Group, based in the city of Rudong, which manufactures cranes for ports.

Earlier, the port's director general Djamal Aliyev reported on the need to purchase two gantry cranes that would allow the volume and speed of cargo handling to be increased. The cost of one crane is about RUB 500 million.

Makhachkala seaport will introduce several other innovations aimed at accelerating cargo handling and transshipment. These include the implementation of an inspection and screening facility, where cargo can be inspected using X-ray technology without the necessity of unloading and reloading onto trucks.
