A new system for the management of municipal solid wastes (MSW) based on the principles of a closed cycle will be introduced in Dagestan and three other regions of Russia. Within the framework of the project it is planned to obtain recyclable materials suitable for reuse in various industries.
“The Russian ecological operator is working on several projects based on the principles of a circular economy” - the head of the eco-operator Denis Butsaev told reporters at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Within the framework of the forum, held June 2 - 5, a charter was signed “Creation and implementation of a new system of municipal solid waste management in the Russian Federation”. The document became a declaration of signatories of its participants about their readiness to take measures for the creation and implementation of a new system of MSW management, corresponding to the principles of a circular economy in the Russian Federation.
The agreement is also open for signing by other companies that share the principles of zero waste disposal declared by the charter. The new MSW management system will gradually reduce the anthropogenic load on the environment. “We plan that an integrated approach to the implementation of infrastructure projects will allow us to create a chain of enterprises where we will select fractions, sort, purify, process and receive recyclable materials sufficient to obtain new types of products” - Butsaev is quoted saying.
