Kizlyar Brandy Factory, the leading producer of brandy in the Republic of Dagestan, has processed more than 50,000 tons of grapes in 2024. Overall, the region’s enterprises have processed more than 230,000 tons of berries.

Earlier, in August 2024, the factory had commissioned a newly renovated grape receiving and processing facility with up-to-date equipment. This modernisation allowed the company to speed up the processing of raw materials and to raise the quality level.

According to data from 2023, wineries in Dagestan produced more than 4.5 million decalitres of products, representing a 15% increase compared to 2022. This positive trend continued in 2024 with a production growth of 13% over the previous year's figures. For cognac, the increase made 28%, while for sparkling wines it was 37%.

Dagestan is a leading region in Russia in terms of wine production. The local authorities reported a record grape crop in 2024, with more than 300,000 tons harvested. Dagestan accounts for more than 95% of the overall volume of vintage cognac produced in Russia.
