The construction of Rosatom’s Novolakskaya wind power plant in Dagestan has commenced today. The facility is projected to be operational in two phases, with the first phase scheduled for commissioning in 2025, and the second phase following in 2026.
The initial phase entails the installation and activation of 61 offshore wind turbines, collectively generating a capacity of 152.5 megawatts (MW) in 2025. Subsequently, the second phase will involve the deployment of additional 59 wind turbines, resulting in a combined capacity of 147.5 MW by 2026.
Approximately 65% of the components for this project will be locally manufactured within Russia. Upon completion, this wind farm is anticipated to contribute up to one billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually, equating to approximately 240,000 additional households, to the power grid in Dagestan. With an investment exceeding RUB 50 billion, the capacity of this facility is estimated at 300 megawatts.
