The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation has recognized Dagestan as one of the leaders in the production of ground vegetables. As of September 19, Russia has harvested 2.5 million tons of fresh vegetables. This is 6.5% more than on the same date last year.

The Ministry official notes that the leaders in the production of ground vegetables in Russia are Astrakhan, Volgograd and Moscow regions, Krasnodar Krai, as well as the Kabardino-Balkar Republic and the Republic of Dagestan.

Additionally, this year's harvest of greenhouse products exceeded 1.1 million tons, which is similar to last year's figures. Among them, the harvest of tomatoes is 475 thousand tons, cucumbers - 624 thousand tons.
