Dagestan and Stavropol region improve integration, partnership

Makhachkala, March 6, 2015. Deputy Dagestan minister of industry, trade and investment Alexander Galmukov and deputy minister of economic development of Stavropol region Alexander Dolin met to discuss interregional co-operation.
The republican ministry’s press office reports, at the meeting the parties negotiated implementation of the Memorandum on Friendship, Cooperation and Deepening Integration between Stavropol Region and Republic of Dagestan until 2016 they had signed last year.
Alexander Galmukov spoke on Dagestan experience in implementing the Trade House Dagestan project and informed his Stavropol counterpart on tools they apply in the republic to support and implement investment projects laying emphasis on interaction with foreign investors. Galmukov also noted they needed to collaborate in holding the annual interregional investment forum.
In turn, Alexander Dolin reported on the specifics of the Stavropol ministry of economy – how they support and develop small and medium-sized businesses, prepare and implement the regional development strategy, maintain investment activity, and monitor tax incentives, banking sector, and public procurement.
The Stavropol minister also suggested they improve the mechanism for exchanging information between the ministries and work out deepening of potential cooperation in "integrating" Stavropol exporters in the Dagestan transport infrastructure in order to move forward to Azerbaijani and Iranian markets.
The two sides also shared their experience in implementing regional projects, holding presentations, and discussed the problems and prospects for developing industrial parks and sites.
