The fish processing industry in Dagestan witnessed a remarkable expansion in past year, with an eighteen-fold increase in production volumes compared to the preceding year, amounting to 5.6 thousand tons. This positive trend is projected to persist in the current year as well, with authorities forecasting a 19.4% rise in fish production from farms and enterprises, leading to a total output of 8 thousand tons.

It is anticipated that the majority of this raw material will be processed within the borders of Dagestan. The substantial growth recorded last year can be attributed, partially, to a government program aimed at fostering the development of the industry through the provision of subsidies to approximately 30 enterprises. This initiative serves to further solidify Dagestan's status as a prominent player in the realm of fish processing.
