Makhachkala, October 17, 2016. Iranian province of Ardabil will host Dagestan Crafts’ Week. The national carpets, pottery, jewelry and Untsukul handicrafts will be shown to the Iranians in summer 2017.

"Our masters are studying the experience of Kubachi craftsmen to professionally produce weapon and silver jewelry in Iran" - the head of the Agricultural Jihad Organization of the province of Ardebil Sarva Adil told the RIA "Dagestan".

Along with the Iranian delegation, Sarva Adil visited the Center of folk arts and crafts in Makhachkala, where he tried himself at the loom in one of the workshops and expertly showed how to manage thread. "In Dagestan weaving is done by women. In Iran, on the contrary, weaving is males’ occupation. The most beautiful and colorful carpets are those hand-made by men", - Adil confessed.

Having familiarized with the Dagestani crafts, Adil suggested holding a week-long exhibition of handicrafts in Ardebil province to the Minister of Tourism and folk arts and crafts of the Republic of Dagestan Magomed Isayev. According to representatives of the Iranian delegation, Ardabil province is annually visited by 9,000,000 tourists in summer time. “The residents of the province and its guests will be interested to get acquainted with the crafts of Dagestan” – Adil said.
